The crosslisting-by-hand checklist (no $30/month tool needed)

A simple system for listing on Poshmark, eBay, Mercari and Depop by hand, without double sales or lost items.

Crosslisting tools are great, but many part-time resellers list by hand to save $15–99 a month. That works fine with a system. Here’s one that scales to a few hundred listings.

1. Give every item a bin and a code

2. Keep one inventory list

A spreadsheet or app with: title, code, bin, cost, and which sites it’s listed on (with links). When something sells, this is where you look.

3. Choose your sites deliberately

If you sell… Good pairing
Women’s fashion Poshmark + Mercari (+ Depop for Y2K/vintage)
Sneakers, streetwear eBay + Grailed + Depop
Collectibles, cards eBay + Mercari + Whatnot
Handmade, vintage home Etsy + eBay

Two or three sites is the sweet spot for listing by hand.

4. Know the minute something sells

Turn on sale notifications everywhere, and make sure they reach your phone. Double sales almost always come from seeing a sale hours late.

5. End the others immediately

When an item sells: open your list, find it, end it on every other site, then mark it sold. Aim for under 10 minutes.

6. Watch your cancellation rate

Marketplaces penalise cancellations: eBay counts defects, and Poshmark can restrict sellers over 3% in 90 days. Count yours monthly.

7. Ship within a day

Fast shipping prevents buyer cancellations and earns better ratings, which protects you when a double sale does happen.

The shortcut

Steps 2, 4 and 5 are exactly what Sold Elsewhere automates: it turns your sale emails into instant phone alerts with the bin and one-click links to end the other listings, imports your listings in one click, and warns you if something sells twice. Free for 10 sales a month.
