Poshmark's 3% cancellation rule: what crosslisters need to know

Poshmark can restrict sellers who cancel more than 3% of orders in 90 days. Here's how the rule works and how to stay well under it when you sell on other sites too.

Since January 2026, Poshmark may restrict sellers who cancel more than 3% of their orders over a rolling 90-day window. For most sellers that sounds generous, until you crosslist. Then the most common cancellation isn’t a damaged item or a no-show buyer: it’s an item that already sold on Mercari or eBay while it was still live in your closet.

This guide summarises the rule as reported in 2026. Poshmark’s policies change, so check Poshmark’s own seller help center for the current wording.

How the math works

3% of 90 days of sales is a small number:

Orders in 90 days Cancellations before you pass 3%
30 0 (the first one puts you at 3.3%)
60 1
100 3
200 6

If you sell 10 items a month on Poshmark, a single double sale can put you over.

Why crosslisters get caught

How to stay under 3%

  1. Remove sold items within minutes, not hours. The longer a sold item stays live elsewhere, the higher the chance it sells twice.
  2. Turn on sale emails or push notifications for every marketplace you use, and make sure they reach your phone.
  3. Keep a single inventory list with where each item is listed, so you know exactly which listings to end.
  4. Ship fast so buyers don’t cancel on you for slow shipping.
  5. Track your own rate. Count cancellations in the last 90 days against orders, especially before busy seasons.

Doing it without a $30+/month tool

Full crosslisting suites with automatic delisting work, but they cost $15–99 a month. If you list by hand, you mostly need two things: an instant alert when something sells and one-click access to the other listings. That’s what we built Sold Elsewhere to do. It also shows a cancellation meter against Poshmark’s 3% limit.
