Install on Chrome, Edge, Firefox (and Safari)
Which browsers are supported, where to get the extension, and what to do on a Mac with Safari.
Chrome, Brave, Opera, Arc
Install from the Chrome Web Store (button on soldelsewhere.com). Brave, Opera, Arc and Vivaldi all use the Chrome Web Store, so the same link works.
After installing:
- A welcome tab opens and switches to Setup. Keep it open for the next step.
- Click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar and pin Sold Elsewhere so alerts are one click away.
Microsoft Edge
Edge installs Chrome extensions directly: open our Chrome Web Store link in Edge, click Allow extensions from other stores when Edge asks, then Add to Chrome (it adds to Edge). Everything works the same.
Firefox
Our Firefox version is in review on Firefox Add-ons. It works the same way, but it sends no anonymous usage counts at all, as Mozilla requires.
Safari (Mac, iPhone, iPad)
There’s no Safari extension yet. Instead, use the Sold Elsewhere web app, which gets the same sale alerts as notifications:
- iPhone and iPad: set up phone alerts
- Mac: add the app to your Dock
You still need the extension in one desktop browser (Chrome, Edge or Firefox) to create your account and manage inventory.
Does it need to stay open?
Sales arrive instantly while your browser is open. Right after installing you’ll see “✅ Sale alerts are on in this browser”, which means instant alerts are working. To get alerts while your computer is off, add phone alerts.
