Alerts on a Mac with Safari

Use Safari's "Add to Dock" to get Sold Elsewhere notifications on your Mac, even when your other browser is closed.

If you use Chrome, Edge or Firefox on your Mac, the extension already shows desktop notifications while that browser is open. Safari users, or anyone who wants alerts without a browser open, can add the web app to the Dock (macOS Sonoma or newer).

  1. In the extension (in any supported browser): Setup → Connect my phone to get a code.
  2. Open soldelsewhere.com/app in Safari.
  3. In the menu bar: File → Add to Dock → Add.
  4. Open Sold Elsewhere from the Dock, enter the code, then Turn on alerts → Allow.

Desktop notifications from the extension

The extension uses your computer’s normal notifications. If you don’t see them:

  • Mac: System Settings → Notifications → Google Chrome (or Microsoft Edge / Firefox) → Allow notifications.
  • Windows: Settings → System → Notifications → turn on for your browser, and check Focus assist / Do not disturb.
