Yahoo and AOL Mail

Why forwarding from Yahoo/AOL is unreliable, and the free workaround that always works.

Yahoo and AOL often block or delay forwarded mail, and Yahoo’s automatic forwarding may require a paid Yahoo Mail Plus plan. That makes alerts unreliable, so we recommend the workaround below.

Most reliable: a free Gmail just for selling

  1. Create a free Gmail address, for example yourname.sells@gmail.com.
  2. In each marketplace’s account settings, change your email address (or notification email) to that Gmail.
  3. Follow the Gmail setup guide.

Bonus: your selling emails stay separate from personal mail.

Or try Yahoo forwarding

  1. Yahoo Mail → ⚙ Settings → More Settings → Mailboxes.
  2. Select your mailbox → Forwarding → enter your private Sold Elsewhere address → Verify.
  3. The verification email arrives at your Sold Elsewhere address. Open the extension’s Setup tab: if a code or link appears, use it.

If no alerts arrive after a real sale, switch to the Gmail workaround.
